Told you the Dog Packs had a certain system. ;D
Alpha - The leader of the pack. Their word is law. Up to two Alphas, a male and a female.
Beta - The second in command. These dogs generally keep the pack going when an Alpha is away. Generally only one beta, but there can be two if mates.
Healer - The only dog in the pack that knows the art of medicine. These dogs are generally healers because they can't hunt or fight, or if they have a disability. Only up to two Healers.
General - The General is the best hunter, fighter and tracker in the pack. In a hunt, they are generally at the front of the group. In battle they fight alongside the Alphas and Betas. This dog always gives Students their final assessments. A pack only ever has one at a time.
Scout - The pack has one or two Scouts. These dogs are semi-neutral with all other packs. They are the messengers of the pack.
Soldier - Soldiers are generally the fighters of the pack. A student is always picked to be a Soldier or a Hunter during training. If they're big, strong and fit for battle then they train to fight. A pack can have an unlimited number of Soldiers.
Hunter - A hunter is, well, a hunter. As a student they are picked to be a Hunter or Soldier. If they are fast, sleek and still powerful then they train to hunt. A pack can have an unlimited number of Hunters.
Student - A Student is a dog in training. As soon as they hit a certain age, a dog is picked to train in the arts of Hunting or Fighting. If a dog is large, strong and fit for battle, they train to fight. If they're fast, sleek and still powerful then they train to hunt. A Student will train with their mentor until the General gives them a final assessment. If they pass, they are allowed to be called a Hunter or Soldier. If they fail, they must continue training.
Pup Mother - A Pup Mother is a pregnant or nursing dog. They no longer attend to their duties and care for their pups. An Alpha's pup is usually considered to be a future Alpha, Beta or General right at birth. An Alpha's pups are also always trained to both hunt and fight. A Pup Mother cannot be attacked, but may be banished from a pack.
Pup - A Pup is a dog too young to be training to fight or hunt. These dogs generally spend their days sleeping, eating or playing. A pup is never to be hurt or abandoned.
Elder - An Elder is a dog too old to continue their duties. They are generally highly respected in the pack. Attacking an elder is permitted only if they have completely betrayed the pack. Banishing an elder is also permitted.
Omega - An Omega is the lowest rank a wolf could ever get. They are generally used as slaves. They get the scraps of a meal that nobody else wants, and are mainly used as fighters and hunters for the Pack. If an Omega has pups, the pup is automatically considered an Omega. An Omega basically has no rights. A member of the pack may attack an Omega at any time. Banishing an Omega is permitted, even if they're pregnant.
Alright, so, I lied. Ranking system is amazingly close to most other Pack Ranking Systems. However those are how Dog Pack Ranks work here on WotW.
